Sydney McDonald, OTR/L
Associate Director and Volunteer/Student Coordinator
Ms. Sydney attended the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University. She has worked for 25+ years in a variety of settings, ranging from pediatrics to adults; head injury to hand therapy; and in large clinics and in private home settings.
Her favorite thing to do/use in our facility is to participate in a truly child-led sensory integration session, watching their eyes light up as they realize what they can do! She enjoys implementing holistic and alternative treatment methods into her clients' plan of care, approaching the child as a "whole" rather than parts.
Her certifications/training include: Therapeutic Listening (she is a certified provider), QuickShifts, Autism (Autism Badge #1), Handwriting Without Tears, Reflex Integration, Nutrition - ADHD/Autism, Floor Time Model, Astronaut Training, Brain Gym, Brain Connections, Crisis Prevention Intervention, Zones of Regulation, Alert Program, Social Thinking, Use of SI as a Tool, OT Immersion, and she has attended the M.O.R.E. conference.
