Viola Thompson, M.S., CCC-SLP  

Mrs. Viola received her education from North Carolina Central University and holds a Masters Degree in Communication Disorders, her field of study was Speech Language Pathology. She also received an Undergraduate degree from Old Dominion University with a Bachelors of Science in Communication Disorders and a minor in Special Education. Prior to joining the Helping Hands family, Viola has experience as an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher and worked with PK-12th grade students as an SLP. 

Mrs. Viola's treatment style includes engaging in child lead therapy to promote functional communication in a natural environment.

Mrs. Viola enjoys implementing multisensory approaches to target the child's needs. Also incorporating parents in the session to teach new strategies. Her training and knowledge base include the following: Autism, Down Syndrome, AAC Devices, Expressive & Receptive language disorders as well as articulation disorders, LAMP: Language Acquisition though Motor Planning, Crisis Prevention Intervention, PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions & Support), SpED - General & Adaptive Curriculum.
