Lita Brennan

Principal of Helping Hands Private Day School

Ms. Lita attended Liberty University where she received her Masters Degree in Special Education, studying K-12 general curriculum. Before joining Helping Hands, Inc., over a year ago, she worked for Caroline County Public Schools.

Her training and certifications include: Autism, Handwriting Without Tears, Zones of Regulation, Social Thinking, PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support), OT Immersion, Twice Exceptional, Differential Instruction, Special Education - Adaptive Curriculum, Special Education - General Curriculum, Child Abuse, Technology, TEACCH Autism Classroom Training, Down Syndrome practical applications training, American Sign Language, VCU/ACE COLA (Communities of Learning Autism) Training, ABA training, Reading and Writing in Context Area training, MANDT, I-Station, and IEP Online.

She is passionate about guiding students to learn in a way that is fun, interactive, and meets them where they are. Her favorite things to utilize in teaching include interactive lessons such as STEAM challenges, QR codes, lapbooks, Kahoot, and many more!
